RETCO-VI
The sixth biennial conference RETCO-VI will take place at the Indian Institute of Technology Indore during 10 - 12 March 2025 organized by the Department of Astronomy, Astrophysics and Space Engineering (DAASE), Indian Institute of Technology Indore.
Earlier meetings of this series were held at IIT, Guwahati (RETCO-I, 2013), ARIES, Nainital (RETCO-II, 2015), IIST, Trivandrum (RETCO-III, 2017), IUCAA, Pune (RETCO-IV, 2019), and Kodaikanal Solar Observatory (IIA), Kodaikanal (RETCO-V, 2023).
The aim of the conference is to bring together a group of researchers from all over India to discuss theoretical, simulation, and observational progress towards the understanding of physics around compact objects. In the meeting, participants will discuss the latest results on the theoretical modelling, numerical simulations and observational findings.
The year 2025 will also mark the 10th year since the launch of India's first multi-wavelength mission AstroSat. To commemorate the iconic event, a special session on AstroSat mission and results will be a part of RETCO-VI. Sepcial session on XpoSat is also planned to celebrate 1 year of XpoSat launch and to discuss the first results. Given that India has now become a full member of the SKA Observatory (SKAO), special focus on prospects of compact object science with SKA will also be one of the prime objectives of this conference.
